As a teenager, many things can
serve as a distraction. Many things can serve as temptation to stray from the proper course of life let alone the world of
competitive powerlifting. For Neil Saurers, none of that matters. An extraordinarily driven kid from a family steep in athletic
tradition, Neil is the youngest member of the ICG crew. Neil stated that it "took some time to find the sport that was
for me" and there is no doubt the sport of powerlifting fits his mindset well. He began training at 14 years old
but it wasn't until recently that he dedicated himself to seriously pursuing the sport and to becoming as strong as he
possibly could. Neil is young but hungry. Learning more every session and stepping right in to the ICG brotherhood. In February
of 2010, Neil entered his first powerlifting meet marking a significant start to his journey with a 290 pound effort. Later
that year, after working tirelessly, Neil proved that he would not fall short of his potential at the WABDL World Championships
where he posted a 418.7 pound bench press to win the teen class and claim his first World Champion title. Neil seems to learn
more every session and is determined to make his mark in the near future. With the entire ICG family in his corner, he is
destined to do just that.
