Name:Gina LeBeau

Birthday: November 5th

Tell us a little about yourself: I was blessed 10yrs. ago with my beautiful son who has shown me what unconditional love is. I am a business women and a born leader. My passions are health and fitness, figure skating, and music.

For someone with your background, you could have chosen anything to excel in...why bodybuilding?: I love training as odd as it sounds I never complain. I believe its a lifestyle. I enjoy training every body part. I am so hungry to be my best and through bodybuilding the results are ever changing. I learn something new everyday, it gets better and better. I love the sport, the discipline, focus, and the long term dive it requires.

What first lead to your interest in training?:I remember incorporate training as part of my off-ice training as I became older. I think there was were I first got a strong sense of listening to my body and seeing my lines. As I matured I knew I could apply my competitive background into bodybuilding

With so many positives, it may be tough to ask. However, what is your favorite thing about the sport of bodybuilding?: This is one of those questions I could write a book on. Everywhere I go I talk about health and fitness. The things bodybuilding has taught me has allowed me to touch so many peoples life's. So many things about who I am are a reflection of myself in bodybuilding its a beautiful sport. Something anyone who slowed down and watched could understand just how detailed and how much hard work goes into.

Is there a certain diet philosophy (off season and contest)that you follow?: Personally, I always think long-term. I don't believe in putting my body on a roller coaster so to speak so I don't vary to far off weight on or off season. Maybe 10 - 15lbs range. I'm all about growing off-season and focusing on weaker areas and if I'm not ready I keep training. I will not begin to set a goal if I feel my conditioning is not where it needs to be. It's all about working hard and smart and being brutally honest with yourself and not loosing sight of the long term goal.

What is your favorite bodypart to train?: Nothing beats a brutal leg workout where you feel like you can't walk for 2 days. I love the feeling of keeping my heart rate up so high that I'm in a puddle of sweat. You're body is fired up, cleansed, alive, then totally depleted and drained

Is there any certain contest that you really enjoy doing?: Every contest is another learning experience. My Favorite contest is gonna be the one I walk away a pro!!!! As a result every experience to become that is gonna be burned in me as a reflection.

What has been your best experience to date in the sport?: To date I would say to work with Andy B To have such a polished judge help me along, tweaking things to see me transform into a pro is so overwhelming to me. I feel truly blessed. All I have to do is the work and allow time for growth.

We asked for the best, now we have to ask...what has been your worst experience to date?: Like any sport, we are all somewhat naive. We take advice when we shouldn't, we trust people we shouldn't but I never stopped listening to my body when I felt something wasn't right so luckily and gratefully I learned so much and seen so much that it taught me what not to be or do. "Lead by example" as my father says....

What was the best advice you have ever been given?:Best advise- tough!!!!! I was always told I was born without a first gear so I don't lack the drive, discipline, or desire so I would say..... I would listen to how husbands or wife's would say how mean their spouses get when carb depleting and I told myself I would never do that. Just because I choose this life doesn't give me the right to abuse my family. It's the best advise I can give as well. Our sport is intense yes, but you can do it and still have a life and enjoy it. If you can't, you're not doing something right

What advice would like to pass on to newcomers to the sport?: Bodybuilding by Gina 1-0-1.... my advise would be... work hard, be honest with yourself, do your homework, don't be afraid of how long it takes to reach your goal but set one, be realistic and find a good training partner, a good coach to look over your diet, review your workouts, and check your progress. Take the emotion out, be brutally honest with yourself, and know it's a lifestyle. Make a commitment and enjoy the ride!!!!!

We know you stay pretty strict on your diet year round but do you have a favortie cheat food or meal?: My favorite cheat meal....I have two. As a snack, sodium free peanut butter. I love, love, love it on my egg whites with dried oat meal. Call me crazy but you gotta try it.   2. I love yellow chicken curry no potatoes extra veggies.... OMG- YUMMY

Who has been the most influential person in your career to date: Several greats come to mind Arnold Schwarzenegger-Beautiful poser, Jay Cutler-Beastly, Iris Kelly-Conditioning

The Iron Chamber Gym has historically been a powerlifting gym, what was it about the ICG that made you want to dig your heels in and set up shop?: When you walk into the ICG you get a sense of old school training. Its not play time its work time!!! Don't get me wrong everyone loves to talk training and have a good time but we all love to train, you can feel it. We are all athletes in some form. It's small, family oriented and b.s. free.

Where do you see yourself ultimately taking your bodybuilding career?: To the top baby!!!! I will turn Pro, its just a matter of time. I see myself doing fitness modeling, getting supplement contracts, being a spokes women for my sport, training clients, and always giving back to the sport I love.

Is there anyone you would like to recognize or thank?: I would like to thank my family for all their support and belief in me. Secondly to Andy my coach... for your honesty, for your time in helping me with my diets and workouts. I would like to thank all my training partners over the years. I may be crazy intense and push hard but we worked hard, learned a lot, and had a lot of fun along the way...
